Conference Championship Week Pick’Em

WARNING: If you came here for proper grammar and articulate writing, go read a book. This is Pick em season, and ain’t nobody got time for that. Hot Picks Only… but seriously come back next week for more.
Picking College Football games is a tough business, and no one knows that better than the Trophy Kids. If this were easy, everyone would do it. That’s why week after week you turn to the Trophy Kids to help you ride the rollercoaster season that is picking college football games. We are coming off a 9-4 week and ready as always with the hot picks you need for your Saturday.
Make sure to check out the pod every week to get our takes on the rest of the sporting world.
Nate’s Picks: For those of you that have followed us all season, you know that I didn’t get off to a hot start. I failed you and because I’m a bigger man than most I have no problem admitting that. I also told you I would bring my lunch pale to work and turn this thing around. My football brain is just too good, and for the last couple weeks, I have been mounting a come back for the ages. Last week I went 9-4 in pick’em on Trophy Kids picks. That brings my record to 28-23-1 on the year. I expect this week to continue my epic come back.
Texas vs. Oklahoma -7.5 Over/under 77: It’s been 115 years since the last team these two teams have gotten together twice within the same season. The shit talking is flowing, and the stage is set for another great Red River Showdown. The Longhorns got the better of the Sooners last time winning 48-45. I expect this game to be remarkably similar. Oklahoma plays zero defense, and the Offense looks like they are playing 7 on 7 flag football. I expect a lot of points in this one and is probably going to come down to whoever has the ball in their hands last. Expect this to be within 7 but Sooner come out on top.
Pick: Texas +7.5 and Over 77
Alabama vs. Georgia +13.5 Over/Under 63.5: This is by far the game off the week, and I can not wait. Alabama is a heavy favorite and for good reason. They have been laying waste to teams all season. Tu has been cutting through teams like butter, and the Bama defense is crushing skulls once again. They, however, are going to be going up against the man that is building a BAMA jr over in Georgia.
I have made it pretty obvious this year that I love Georgia. I think this team is extremely good and can compete with Bama. Kirby Smart is doing a hell of a job assembling talent that can take of the beast and this year I once again thinks this game stays close. Jake Fromm is having another great year and showing why he is one of the best Quarterbacks out there. He is rocking a QBR of 86.1, while through 24 TDS to 5 INTs. Georgia once again has a two head monster in the backfield with D’andre Swift leading the way with 962 rushing yards and TD’s. The Defense is 10th in fewest points allowed and more importantly 14th in fewest passing yards allowed. I’m not going to sit here and say I am taking a Moneyline on this one, but I do believe this game is going to be a close slug feast.
Pick Georgia +13.5 Under 63.5
Northwestern Vs. Ohio State -15 Over/Under 61: I started out thinking this game was just going to play out the same as the beat down Ohio State just gave Michigan. Northwestern to me is just a worse version of Michigan but then I record Trophy Kids, and Tim/ Dontae put my brain into a pretzel. They change my mind and know I’m taking Northwestern. (If you haven’t listened take a listen to this weeks episode. It’s a good one)
Pick: Northwestern -15
Clemson Vs. Pitt +28 Over/Under 53: Danny Kanell tweeted out the most jump out at you stat this week saying “Clemson has won 10 of 12 games by 20 points or more… The only 2 they didn’t win by 20 their Qb did not play the whole game.”. Clemson is an absolute unit this year. They are playing great football on both sides of the ball. The defense is loaded with NFL talent, and Trevor Lawrence might be the greatest Quarterback ever. This spread is really high but once you break it down it seems pretty spot on. Pitt is just not very good comparably. Their offense relies heavily on the run to be effective in the passing game, and I just don’t see them being able to move the ball at all.
Pick: Clemson -28
