WARNING: If you came here for proper grammar and articulate writing, go read a book. This is Pick em season, and ain’t nobody got time for that. Hot Picks Only… but seriously come back next week for more.

Picking NFL games can be a wild ride. Not everyone can do it, but that’s why you turn to the Degenerate Report (35-20 record). Unfortunately, we are coming to the end of the season, so it’s time to really lock in. These next weeks should be a lot of fun because let’s face it, we all have a little degenerate in us, and every once in a while we let it out.

Here are your picks for the weekend.

COLTS vs. Chiefs -7 OVER/UNDER 49.5: This is a HOT pick right here. The Colts have turned a 1-5 start round and are looking like a complete football team heading into Arrow Head. They just beat the breaks of the Texans (21-7) and are peaking on both sides of the ball at the right time. They also have history on their side marching into Kansas City to take on a disaster of a franchise when it comes to the playoffs.

While the Chiefs have been one of the hottest teams in football this year, thanks to the offense. The franchise as a whole has had a ridiculously atrocious track record in the playoffs. Since the 1970 NFL merger, the Chiefs hold a playoff record of 4-16. This is going to be a snowy cold game and that will play a role in slowing down the Chiefs offense. I don’t think the Chiefs defense is up to snuff and will ultimately be the reason the Colts at least cover in this game.

DALLAS vs. RAMS -7 OVER/UNDER 49.5: This is a tough one. On one hand, you have the Rams who all season have been considered one of the best teams in the NFL. On the other, you have a team that midway through the season had to deal with questions around whether or not they should fire their head coach.

For me, I think the Rams have peaked too early. We have seen the offense struggle against good defenses and while Suh and Donald are a problem to block the rest of the defense has looked, suspect. I don’t know if the Cowboys can win this game because they have been trash on the road this year. But I do think they can cover. The ability to just hand the ball to Zeke so he can muddy up the game and make plays cannot be overlooked. The Cowboys defense is excellent outside of the secondary but even that group I believe can make a crucial play or two.

Pick: Cowboys +7

CHARGER vs PATRIOTS -4 OVER/UNDER 47: The Pat’s have one of the greatest home field advantages in all of sport. Going into Foxboro is like going into Medusa’s lair… you don’t walk away. The Pat’s haven’t lost a playoff game at home since 2012 and in the Bill Belichick/Tom Brady Era are 15-3 overall at home. This team is obviously not the best Pat’s team ever assembled, but when playing at home, they figure it out more often than not.

The Chargers, on the other hand, have been a great road team this year. I love Philip Rivers who is playing some of his best football late. But Melvin Gordon is banged up and they are going to need a strong run game in this game. The weather is going to be a factor in the passing game, and that doesn’t bid well for the chargers. However, this game is prime for a low scoring slugfest.

PICK: Under 47

EAGLES vs. Saints -8 OVER/UNDER 51: This is going to be a fun one. The Saints right now have to be the favorites to go to the Super Bowl out of the NFC. This team is solid in all phase of the game. But there is something about the Eagles with Nick Foles. He has got magic running through is veins. You can’t deny it at this point. The spread is just too big here and I think that the Saints running up the score last time they played is going to come back and hunt them.

Pick: EAGLES +8

Should be a great week of football and may the picks be in your favor.
