The Degenerate Report: NFL WEEK 6 PICKS

Picking football games can be tough, and that’s why you turn to the Degenerate Report. Unfortunately, I have been off to a cold start, and that’s on me. College football has been an absolute blood bath of bad picks this year, so outside of the two games I love, I’m staying away this weekend. I’m going to sit back, to do some research and come back ready to rock an roll next week. In the meantime, I’m going back to my bread and butter, the NFL. We have some great games to watch and even better games to bet. So we are locked in and ready to have some fun because let’s face it, we all have a little degenerate in us, and every once in a while we let it out.

Here are my picks for the weekend.

College Pick Two:

Oklahoma vs. Texas +10.5 O/U 75.5: Alright, alright, alright we have ourselves a game this week. The Red River Rivalry is one of college football’s great rivalries, and once again, we have both teams entering this game playing at the top of their game. This has the makings of another great one but the question is who will cover?

This line as had some movement on it, and at the time of writing this, it sits at 10.5. It seems that at this point, everyone and their mother is on Texas. I would usually hate that, but honestly, I love it. This seems like a huge spread for a game that traditionally has been close, especially in the last couple of years. Kansas last week showed the country that Oklahoma has some cracks in their game. Texas is a much more physical and athletic team that should be able to take advantage of those cracks and breakthrough.

Texas is coming to be able to bring pressure consistently and that has shown to be a problem for Jalen Hurts. You pair that with a Texas offense that is rolling right now and a playmaker in Sam Ehlinger who seems to shine the brightest when the pressure is on and you have a recipe for a great game.

I don’t know if Texas has enough to win this game outright but I do think they have more then enough to make this close and have a chance at the end of the game.

Pick: Texas +10.5

UVA vs. Miami -2 O/U 43.5: This game is going to be a defensive battle that I think favors UVA.

Both teams have atrocious O-lines, with UVA giving up 8 sacks last week to Notre Dame and Miami giving up a sack on 14.71 percent of their dropbacks this season. The QB situation is a mess for Miami. Miami is a dead program right now, and maybe Diaz brings them back to glory eventually, but there are no signs of life thus far.

UVA’s defense is going to win out and Bryce Perkins will make enough plays to win this game.

Pick: UVA +2

NFL PICKS

Giants vs Patriots -17 O/U 43.5: This line is absolutely crazy. It’s one of those lines that makes zero no sense and makes you play dizzy bat in your head. I’m going back and forth because it’s should be pats by a million, but yet Vegas has it at 17.

The Giants are going to be a ghost team on offense. They are without Barkley, Shepherd, and Engram. How are they going to put up any points against one of the best defense in the NFL??? Tom Brady is going to do Tom Brady things and be a giant killer tonight.

Pick: Patriots -17

Cowboys vs Jets +7.5: This is another line that makes no sense to me. Yeah, the Cowboys haven’t been great the last couple weeks but they are a team that loves to murder bad football teams. Dak is a slightly better version of Kirk Cousins, were he plays terribly in the big moments but slays against teams below .500.

The New York Bells are a make you want to puke level terrible. Adam Gase might be on the dumbest coaches out there. The man gave Luke Falk ZERO first-team reps in preparation for last week’s game. This man is incapable of running a football team. Yes, I know Sam Darnold is back but the team still stinks and I can’t see him being Superman and getting the Jets to cover 7.

Pick: Cowboys -7.5

Bengals vs. Ravens -11 O/U 48: The Ravens being a good team is entirely up in the air right now. They started off the season great, but it was against subpar teams, and recently, who knows with this team. They might be good, they might not be good. The whole division is a mess so even if they aren’t that good they could still make the playoffs. One thing is for sure, the bungholes stinks. They are an absolute dumpster fire right. I think the ravens have a dominating performance here and Lamar goes off this week.

Pick: Ravens -11

49er’s vs Rams -3 O/U 50.5: The 49er’s are one of the hottest football teams in the NFL currently. Which really shouldn’t be a huge surprise. Kyle Shanahan is a brilliant coach who has had to deal with an extremely banged-up team, the last couple of years. Now that everyone is healthy and the pieces are in balance this team has exploded onto the season. Now they look to take on another brilliant coach in Sean Mcvay down in LA.

The Rams have not looked as sharp as they did last year. They defiantly have had some stumbles coming into this game but this is still a very good football team. Warren Sharp also has this tidbit on twitter “With extra time to prepare, Sean McVay is 10-1 as a Rams Coach. Extra time to prepare means week 1, after a bye, after a Thursday night game on MNF. He is 10-0 straight up, 8-1-1 ATS and 7-3 to the over (averaging 37 ppg) vs all human coaches, and he is 0-1 vs Bill Belichick”. Sean McVay is terrifying to coach against when he has had time to break down the tape. We are in for an awesome game between two stellar coaches.

Pick: Rams -3

It should be a great week of football and may the picks be in your favor.
