THE DEGENERATE REPORT: COLLEGE AND NFL FOOTBALL WEEK 7
Picking football games can be challenging, and that’s why you turn to the Degenerate Report. Last week was a lousy week for those Degenerates out there. I went 2-4 for the first losing week of the year. I am hiding from this bad week; instead, I learn from it. I dove further into the numbers and the bets this week to find you, winners; I am 23-13 on the year and have yet to lose a year. I don’t plan on this year being my first.
If you are not already, make sure your following Trophy Kids on both Instagram and Twitter. I have been giving out extra picks there, and overall I am 66-40-2 on all football picks this year.
We have some great games to watch and even better games to bet. So we are locked in and ready to have some fun because let’s face it, we all have a little degenerate in us, and every once in a while, we let it out.
Here are my picks for the weekend.

Syracuse vs. Clemson -46.5 Over/Under 61.5: We all saw Clemson looking like the dream team playing Venezuela on Saturday. That has bloated the numbers on this game. Clemson is nitrous for getting up big and pulling their starters. I am on the record of not being a Dabo fan, but I am a massive fan of him, making sure everyone who practices hard gets game time when they are up big. That is super helpful here.
While Syracuse’s defense is parting like the red sea, Clemson has only scored more than 50 once, and that was last week. I see them keeping with the history and getting up big and pulling starters. Their depth at Qauberback is rocky with multiple guys banged up, which should slow them down, and Syracuse has enough fight, I think, to cover the massive spread of -46.5.
Pick: Syracuse +46.5
UVA vs. Miami -12.5 Over/Under 58: After an embarrassing performance to Clemson, Miami has bounced back and still has a shot at a rematch against Clemson in the ACC championship game. This keeps Miami motivated and hungry in games like UVA because they have to put on strong performances. UVA has been a thorn in their side for the last couple of years.
These games have been low scoring and ugly. This year though, I don’t see that trend continuing. The UVA defense is soft and easy to score on, and the offense is struggling to find consistency.
Pick: Miami -12.5
GA Tech vs. Boston College -3.5 Over/Under 54.5: A lot of people got over their ski’s with Ga Tech to start the season, myself included. They looked good on defense, and the offense seemed to be moving in the right direction from last year, but that was quick-lived. The defense is leaking like an unchanged baby, and the offense isn’t bad, but it isn’t going to make up for it.
Boston College is playing solid football. Nothing special or fancy but gets the job done. The passing game is clicking with Phil Jurkovec, who has been playing well. The BC passing game vs. the Ga Tech secondary is why I like this pick.
Pick: BC -3.5
Packers vs. Texans +3.5 Over/Under 57: The Packers got embarrassed by my Bucs last week. Rodgers threw only the third pick-six of his career (still can’t believe that’s a stat line) last week. Last week’s embarrassment is salt in the wound for Rodgers, who is already on a fuck you tour. This is terrible news for the Texans.
The Texans have picked it up since Bill O’Brien got fired. The match up though this weekend is a disaster.
Pick: Packers -3.5
Seahawks vs. Cardinals +3.5 Over/Under 56: This game has over written all over this. The Seahawks have a potent offense, and the leagues worst pass defense. That is a beautiful mixture for an explosion of points. The Cardinals are competent enough to score some points and will, for sure, give up enough to the Seahawks.
Pick: Over 56
Jags vs. Chargers -7.5 Over/Under 49: The Jags started off the season looking like they might be a chippy squad that would not fade into the night. Started by beating the Colts and playing within the Titians, all good teams, but then they turned back into the terrible Jags. The offense has slowed, and the defense is trash. The Chargers, on the other hand, have looked good.
They are playing well and have played a bunch of outstanding football teams. The problem is they don’t know how to close. That shouldn’t be an issue against the Jags.
Pick: Chargers -7.5
It should be a great week of football, and may the picks be in your favor.
