THE DEGENERATE REPORT: COLLEGE WEEK 4 AND NFL WEEK 3 PICKS

Picking football games can be tough, and that’s why you turn to the Degenerate Report. Last week I improved my Degenerate Report record by going 4-2. This brings the total record to 7-5 on the year. Some might say I am just starting to warm up.
I am not going to lie I don’t love the board this week but picks must be made. I got my eyes on lots of football this past weekend and am ready to come back and give you a great six-pack of picks for this week.
Here are my picks for the weekend.
(If you want the audio version of this, check out this week’s Trophy Kids)
College Football:
Notre Dame vs Wisconsin -5.5 O/U 45: This game will be a rock fight in Chicago. We talked at length about this game on Trophy Kids this week, but I have a hard time seeing where points will come from. For Wisconsin, they have yet to throw for a touchdown, and it has been a house of horrors in the red zone.
For Norte Dame this is a team that is having massive struggles replacing 4 starting O-line from last year (all of which are on NFL Rosters). This has shown upmost in the run game where Kyren Williams has had 45% of his total rush yards come off just two runs. They will also be facing a Wisconsin defense coming off a bye with two weeks to prepare against their ex-QB.
Pick: First Half under 23.5
UNC vs GA Tech +13.5 O/U 65: We gave this pick out on trophy kids so you already know where I am going with this. Don’t allow the UNC game against VA Tech to cloud your mind. This team is rolling again on offense. Sam Howell is playing well and getting a lot of production out of his supporting cast. GA Tech has no offense, and I think, will get dominated in the trenches.
Pick: UNC -13.5
UCLA Vs Stanford +3.5 O/U 59.5: The whole Trophy Kids crew is on this pick. We were all high on UCLA to start the season. UCLA is still a good football team, but the secondary is a problem. Stanford gets a home game and is coming in with the second most efficient passing offense in Pac-12.
Pick: Stanford +3.5
NFL:
Bucs vs Rams +1.5 O/U55.5: What an awesome match-up to get in week 3 of the NFL! Arguably the two best teams in the NFL are going to get a huge early test, and I am all about it. I have a feeling we are in for a ton of passing.
Sean Mcvay knows the weak spot is the secondary for the Bucs. It’s why he elected to pass on more than 70% of early downs last year when these two teams met, and I think he will elect to do that again. On the Bucs side you have a passing offense that I don’t know how the Rams stop. Sure Ramsey will be able to shut down probably Gronk but then who is stopping Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, or any of the other weapons Brady has at his disposal.
This game will come down to who has the ball last, which always seems to be Brady.
Pick: Bucs -1.5
Chargers vs Chiefs -7 O/U55.5: Chiefs are the same team as always. Fantastic of offense, terrible on defense. The defense is 12th in most net yards gained per pass attempt, 2nd most rushing yards allowed per attempt, and 9th percentage of drive that ends in a score.
I think the Chiefs win this game, but it’s close because the defense Stinks!
Pick: Chargers +7
Packers vs 49ers -3 O/U 50.5: This game smells like points, points, points. Aaron Rodgers had his get-right game last week against the lions. The 49er’s defense is good but has some holes in the pass defense. You pair that with the Packers swiss cheese defense and Kyle Shanahan having his QB for this match-up. I love points!
Pick: Over 50.5
It should be a great week of football and may the picks be in your favor.
