The Degenerate Report: NFL Week 15

WARNING: If you came here for proper grammar and articulate writing, go read a book. This is Pick em season, and ain’t nobody got time for that. Hot Picks Only… but seriously come back next week for more.

Picking football games can be tough, and that’s why you turn to the Degenerate Report (27-15 record). Unfortunately, we are coming up on the end of the season, so it’s time to really lock in. This next week should be a lot of fun because let’s face it, we all have a little degenerate in us, and every once in a while we let it out.

Here are your picks for the weekend.

(If you want the audio version of this check out this week’s Trophy Kids)

TEXANS vs. JETS +6.5 O/U 41.5: The hottest team in America has finally failed but don’t expect that to carry over this week. The Texans rely on a good run game to keep their offense effective. The Colts did a great job of stopping the run creating an unbalanced offense. Right now that is the recipe for success against the Texans but the Jets are not the Colts.

The Jets Defense is giving up an average of 132 yards on the ground and 243 through the air (not great). On top of that, it’s going to be rainy meaning the Jets are going to have to throw to stay in this game. I don’t see that as a positive for the Jets.

PICK: Texans -6.5

Cleveland vs. Denver -3 O/U 45.5: This is a tough one on the spread. I have been rattling it around in my brain the last couple of days. I have managed to talk myself into seeing both outcomes. So I’m staying away from the spread. The Over/Under on the other hand I like. The Browns post Hue Jackson, have been a completely different team. The only problem is Mile High is a tough place to play. The Browns O-line has been suspect so Von Miller and Bradley Chubb should have fun with that.

The Broncos are a pretty solid team at home but they aren’t blowing teams out. I expect this to be a close, low scoring game.

PICK: Under 45.5

PACKERS vs. BEARS -6 O/U 45: This game has huge implications on both sides. The Packers need a win to stay in the hunt for the playoffs. The Bears need a win to become The King Of The North for the first time since 2010.

The Bears have an incredible home field advantage this year (6-1 at home) and that defense is an absolute nightmare to deal with. This team has vastly improved since their epic collapse to Rodger in week 1. The Packers are also 0-6 on the road and I don’t see them finding much success against the Bears Defense.

PICK: BEARS -6

COWBOYS vs. COLTS -3 O/U 47: The Raiders have managed to do something magically this season… Make the Cowboys and Bears legitimately good.

Since acquiring Amari Cooper the Cowboys have gone 5-1. They finally have an offense that can help out their great Defense. The problem is if Zeke can’t get going, then Dak typically struggles. I fear the loss of Zack Martin on the Offensive line is going to be a problem in this game.

The Colts have had a killer defense against the run recently and that is going to force Dak to make some big plays. On the other side of the ball, the Colt offense did get off to a slow start last week, but I think T.Y. and Ebron will be too much for the Cowboys.

PICK: I hate to pick against the Cowboys but COLTS -3

Patriots vs Steelers +2 O/U 52: This one is a no-brainer. We are about to get a pissed off Bill Belichick on Sunday and I’m all for it. For the last week, the media has been talking about how stupid Belichick was for putting in Gronk last Sunday. This Sunday I think we can expect him to be out for blood and how why he is the greatest coach in the NFL. Plus it helps the Steelers are crumbling.

PICK: Patriots -2

EAGLES vs RAMS -12.5 O/U 52.5: This line has been shooting up and could end up even higher by Sunday.  I loved the rams at 10.5 when we record Trophy Kids and I still love them at 12.5. The Eagles are DEAD and Nick Foles is not going to solve that. The Rams, on the other hand, are pissed off. They got embarrassed on a national stage last week and Sean Mcvay will be out to kill the Eagles and show he is still an offensive genius. If this line goes above 14 though start to reconsider.

PICK: RAMS -12.5

SAINTS vs Panthers +6.5 O/U 61.5: The Panthers are crashing and burning harder than the Hindenburg. The only thing going for them is Christian McCaffrey, but dam is he good.

Cam seems hurt and the teams is just bad. On the other side, the Saints seem to have peaked too early offensively. The last couples weeks haven’t been great, to say the least. But they are still the better team in this one and it’s not even close.

PICK: SAINTS -6.5

Should be a great week of football and may the picks be in your favor.
